Nonverbal Sound in Human-Robot Interaction: a Systematic Review

چکیده
Nonverbal sound offers great potential to enhance robots’ interactions with humans, and a growing body of research has begun explore nonverbal for tasks such as source localization, explicit communication, improving sociability. However, broad interpretation design space that can draw from areas machine learning, music theory, foley. We sought identify compare use cases approaches in human-robot interaction through systematic review. A search robotics-related publisher databases yielded 148 peer-reviewed articles presenting systems, studies, taxonomies. Differences taxonomy overlap terminology adjacent fields speech, gaze, gesture posed difficulties the search, which we attempted address multi-stage process. Based on reviewed articles, developed pair taxonomies using scientific communication principles analyzed study designs measures creation robot sound. discuss recommendations field, including new taxonomies; methods design, generation, validation; paths future research. Roboticists may benefit incorporating key component multimodal interaction.

A Systematic Review of Adaptivity in Human-Robot Interaction
As the field of social robotics is growing, a consensus has been made on the design and implementation of robotic systems that are capable of adapting based on the user actions. These actions may be based on their emotions, personality or memory of past interactions. Therefore, we believe it is significant to report a review of the past research on the use of adaptive robots that have been util...

متن کاملA Multimodal Nonverbal Human-robot Communication System
Socially interactive robot needs the same behaviors and capabilities of human to be accepted as a member in human society. The environment, in which this robot should operate, is the human daily life. The interaction capabilities of current robots are still limited due to complex inter-human interaction system. Humans usually use different types of verbal and nonverbal cues in their communicati...
متن کاملIntegrating Verbal and Nonverbal Communication in a Dynamic Neural Field Architecture for Human–Robot Interaction
How do humans coordinate their intentions, goals and motor behaviors when performing joint action tasks? Recent experimental evidence suggests that resonance processes in the observer's motor system are crucially involved in our ability to understand actions of others', to infer their goals and even to comprehend their action-related language. In this paper, we present a control architecture fo...
متن کاملUsing the Rhythm of Nonverbal Human-Robot Interaction as a Signal for Learning
Human robot interaction is a key issue in order to build robots for everyone. The difficulty for people to understand how robots work and how they must be controlled will be one of the mains limit for broad robotics. In this paper, we study a new way of interacting with robots without needing to understand how robots work or to give them explicit instructions. This work is based on psychologica...
